The GamerSushi Show, Ep 79: The Top 10 of 2013

the gamersushi show ep 79

We are back from a month long break to drop a cast on you before we talk another month long break. Hey, it’s the holidays, can you blame us?

In this three-man yuletide cast, Eddy, Anthony and Jeff talk about the PS4 and the Xbox One, the VGX and then do a live formulation of our top ten games of the year. Nick and I weren’t able to make it but I’d say that our views are fairly represented (except about The Last of Us, but that’s a battle I gave up on long ago).

We’ve never done a live top-10 discussion, but it worked out rather well, especially after our Top 20 Games of the Generation article kind of listed us out.

Hope you enjoy the last cast of 2013 and remember to rate and enjoy the Holidays! See you in early 2014, Sushians!

  1. Two quick things since I couldn’t be on the cast to defend myself: I don’t actually hate Battlefield 4, I played it the other night and had a really good time! It was just unplayable for about a month and went on sale for 40% off on Cyber Monday, so I was kinda butthurt about it.

Also, Eddy has the EXACT same opinion about BioShock: Infinite that I do about The Last of Us (good story and mediocre gameplay) yet my opinion gets discounted? Come on guys.

  2. I think there’s something to be said about the ambitions of each of those games and just how strongly we each feel about it. If I remember correctly, you pretty much despise the gameplay of TLOU whereas I just find Bioshock: Infinite’s forgettable. I also think TLOU had one of the most stunning, earned endings I’ve ever seen in a video game. I might even go on record to say that it’s the best ending of any video game I’ve played. I think that’s worth overlooking some gameplay issues.

  3. Right, Mitch, you don’t hate Battlefield 4, but my argument was a game that broken for that long shouldn’t be on the top 10 of the year. You were the most vocal about its problems at the time of the cast, so I was going off that.

  4. Hey guys, I’m new here, but I thought I would say that I loved the podcast and the site as a whole! Great job, agree with the list mainly, apart from GTA V being No.1.. Bioshock Infinite for me!
