GamerSushi Power Rankings: December 2013

Wolf Among Us

A new generation of challengers arrive!

It’s pretty weird to see PS4 box art in this update of the Power Rankings, but they’re here, plain as day and just as bright and shiny. This month, we’re diving into 3DS games, PlayStation 4 games, small PC titles and more. I think the number 1 spot will surprise you, considering how down we were on last year’s outing, but rest assured that this game deserves all the praise we’ll no doubt heap on it over the next few weeks. You’ve been warned.

In addition to some pirating, we’ve been playing Pokemon X/Y, Link Between Worlds, Battlefield 4 and wrapping up Grand Theft Auto. It’s crazy to look at this list and think back to a few months ago—I wouldn’t have imagined that I’d be playing any of these. Can’t wait to see what next year brings us.

So, without further ado, here are the top 10 games we’ve been playing over the last month. What do you guys think of this list? What are you playing? Go!

1 Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag
This game should have been a straight up pirate game, but that’s OK. You’ll be addicted to pirating on the open seas more than you thought possible.
2 Resogun Resogun
With colorful explosions and frenetic gameplay, Resogun is already this generation’s Geometry Wars.
3 Grand Theft Auto V -2 Grand Theft Auto V
Even when you’re done with this massive game, you’ll have plenty of fun racing, flying planes and causing mayhem in GTA Online.
4 Pokemon X/Y Pokemon X/Y
Time to catch ’em all. Or at least, to try to. Several members of the GamerSushi staff have been plundering this game for all the poke balls they can get their hands on.
5 The Wolf Among Us The Wolf Among Us
Ahead of the highly anticipated sequel to The Walking Dead, Telltale has released a game that might be even better.
6 Super Mario 3D World Super Mario 3D World
Mock Nintendo’s first party releases all you want, Mitch is having a blast with this game. How can you hate on classic Mario?
7 Battlefield 4 Battlefield 4
Bugs aside, this game has dynamic maps and some of the most stunning graphics you’ll find in games today.
8 Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds Legend of Zelda: Link Between Worlds
Classic Zelda. Recalling to the series’ best entry, Link Between Worlds brings nostalgia right to your hands.
9 NBA 2K14 NBA 2K14
Eddy is addicted to fast breaks, creating open looks and demanding trades.
10 The Stanley Parable The Stanley Parable
Is it a game or isn’t it? How long is it? We won’t tell, but we think you’ll like it.

  1. Nice list but I have only managed to play a bit of GTA V at a mate’s house and the demo of The Stanley Parable. I completed the Tales of Monkey Island series yesterday but have spent the last week playing MGS: Peace Walker. I still need to complete Arkham Asylum but have paused that to finish Peace Walker.
