GamerSushi Power Rankings: October 2013

A new challenger arrives!

Several new challengers, actually. Now that the fall is rolling out like AutoBots, it’s safe to say that our Power Rankings chart is going to undergo quite a few transformations of its own, month-to-month. See what I did there? References!

This month sees several new contenders making a debut on the rankings, from mobile games to indie titles and to arguably the biggest blockbuster of the entire year in Grand Theft Auto V. Yes, this venture into Los Santos and San Andreas has stolen our hearts, making us forget all of the abuse that Rockstar dished out in Grand Theft Auto IV. We’re fickle beasts.

So, without further ado, here are the top 10 games we’ve been playing over the last month. What do you guys think of this list? What are you playing? Go!

Last updated: 10/07/13
1 Grand Theft Auto V Grand Theft Auto V
Los Santos is huge in a good way, and more importantly, far more fun than Liberty City ever was.
2 Saint's Row IV Saint’s Row IV
This manages to be both the Saint’s Row and Crackdown sequel that we’ve all been waiting for.
3 Civilization V +1 Civilization V
Multiplayer matches that you can save and reload for later? That’s a recipe for a good time.
4 Dark Souls -2 Dark Souls
If you’ve been listening to the podcast, you know that Jeff and Anthony have boring boners over this.
5 Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
This XBLA game just saw a recent release on Steam, and hot dang is it a simple, gorgeous game.
6 Animal Crossing: New Leaf -1 Animal Crossing: New Leaf
This game still has Mitch in its vile, bell-ringing clutches.
7 Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Mario & Luigi: Dream Team
The duo is back in another one of Nintendo’s classic RPG adventures.
8 Plants Vs Zombies 2 Plants Vs Zombies 2
Does this sequel recreate the mania of its predecessor? Perhaps a little.
9 Fallout: New Vegas -1 Fallout: New Vegas
Anthony picked this up after Skyrim. Because Anthony.
10 Dust: An Elysian Tail -3 Dust: An Elysian Tail
Jeff blew through this game in a matter of days, and apparently he recommends it. He might be a furry.

  1. I played Dust a week or so ago and had a fantastic time with it. I still prefer my ladies served up homo sapiens, however. 😛

  2. I have managed to play a bit of GTA V on my mates 360 and that time was spent getting…..friendly with a stripper named Sapphire. I don’t own a 360/PS3 but I bought the GTA bundle on steam awhile ago when it was ridiculously cheap and finally decided to download Vice City.

I completed KOTOR 2 a couple of weeks ago which was awesome with the mod to add the incomplete content back in. Otherwise I have been playing Fez and 30 Second Hero along with TF2 every so often.
