GamerSushi Asks: What Are You Playing?

ftl game

Games, guys. Games. Well, more accurately Borderlands 2 and some other stuff, but still. The big season is picking back up and there’s already too many damn things to play. I can’t keep track of it all, so I thought I would make a handy dandy post so you guys can write down the titles current spinning in your console or taking up your hard drive.

The top of the list for me is Borderlands 2, and I’m already in the new game + mode, or “True Vault Hunter”. Yes, Axton and I are going through that game again and the loot you get on the second run through is just insane. There’s an old World of Warcraft joke “green is the new purple” and that’s very apropos here. Just as an aside, the Commando is so much better than the Soldier from the first Borderlands. Having a turret that is able to rotate 360 degrees is a godsend.

Other than that I’ve been playing some FTL (including the ill-fated Flight of The Sushian), Black Mesa and Battlefield 3. I picked up Spec Ops: The Line for super cheap and I’m excited to start that. I also need to finish Mark of the Ninja and I have Sleeping Dogs waiting in the wings, so yeah. A lot of stuff.

What have you guys been playing? Any of the above games or something different?

  1. I’m still working my way through I Am Alive on PC, which is awesome now that I found a workaround to the mouse issue a lot of people are having by playing it with my Logitech gamepad. Started a Black Mesa campaign which almost made me well up with nostalgia, a whole lot of CS:GO, and still working through the Fallout New Vegas DLC’s. I just finished Old World Blues and i felt like I had to rush through it just to get back to the Mojave. I didn’t enjoy it at all. I found myself skipping through conversations, which I never do in RPG’s unless I accidently initiate the same convo again.

Also, get Super Crate Box on Steam. It’s free (right?), and it’s a very addictive time killer.

  2. Currently, I am tearing Pandora a new one. I was so near the end of Max Payne 3, too. I may just take one night and finish the last 2 chapters. DAMN, Max Payne 3 is good. So DAMN good. Spec Ops is on my To-Do list. I have started it, but that’s it. Can’t believe the onslaught I still have to bloody face this year.

  3. I’ve been playing through Grand Theft Auto IV and it’s DLC again (I just love the game), playing some FTL too, which is awesome. I’ve been playing Max Payne 3 and some Battlefield 3 with my friends on Xbox Live, and still having a blast. I’ve been popping into CS:GO a little bit and it’s by far my favorite Counter Strike yet.

  4. Haven’t been doing a whole lot of games lately, but when I am I’m playing Borderlands 2, which will hold me over until Halo 4 comes out.

  5. So many things. Nuzlocking through Pokemon HeartGold, Guild Wars 2 is getting a good run although I haven’t been on for a week or so. This is why I love no subscription. I also bought Spec Ops today so that will be played soon too. My backlog feels unloved though

  6. A whole mess of fighting games have been taking up my gaming playtime for September. Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Dead or Alive 5 (the story mode, voiceovers, and music are all so brutally awful but I’m still having a blast playing it), and Marvel vs. Capcom Origins.

I’m also being pleasantly surprised by the awesomeness of Hell Yeah!: Wrath of the Dead Rabbit. That one’s a sleeper hit, right there.

I tried Borderlands 2 out…yeah, I still don’t see what the hype is all about. Maybe it’s just me, but I got NOTHING from my time with that game.
