GamerSushi Asks: What are You Playing?

transformers fall of cybertron

Holy crap guys, has this been a strange month or what? Things are usually pretty dead in August (there have been some exceptions) but this year takes the cake. We’ve seen Darksiders 2 and Sleeping Dogs drop last week, and today we’re getting Transformers: Fall of Cybertron and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.

You can probably guess which release the GamerSushi crew is excited for, but what about you guys? I’ve heard that both Darksiders 2 and Sleeping Dogs are quite good, and surprisingly so in Sleeping Dogs’ case, seeing as how it’s a resurrected version of True Crime: Hong Kong. The melee mechanics are supposed to be brutal and a pretty good imitation of the fist-fighting in the Batman games. You can even beat a guy to death with a fish, so that’s nice.

I was originally looking forward to Transformers: Fall of Cybertron, but I recently found out that the campaign co-op was removed, so I think I’ll be passing on it. I don’t know why that would be taken out, other than that the level design wasn’t made with two players in mind. That said, the first game didn’t seem to be made that way either, so I don’t know what happened there.

Enough about me though, what are you guys getting up to? Are you playing any of these new games, or digging in to your backlog?

  1. So much League of Legends. With a side of Medieval 2: Total War. Hasn’t changed at all. I’ve got a bunch of games from the sale waiting to be downloaded still, so my gaming palette may vary somewhat the next time there’s a “What are you playing?”.

  2. Swtor has been pretty awesome in my own humble opinion. The smuggler class is where I feel the narrative really shines. I also finished my second playthrough of me3 and I think I enjoyed it more this time than the first go around.

  3. I am wrapping up my 4th level capped character in SWTOR (I’ve had quite a bit of free time lol) and I’m still loving the game like it’s my first time. Each different character of mine has such a different story and character traits that it makes going through the game a different experience each time (I have a level 50 Jedi Consular, Sith Warrior, and Imperial Agent). It’s funny you mention the smuggler Nero, because that’s the one I’m on right now and it just seems like the writers had a field day with the character. Too often I find myself laughing at what comes out of the character’s mouth, and the story itself is competing for my favorite of the classes I’ve done. Once it goes F2P I would highly recommend my fellow Sushians to give it a try. On another note, I’m experiencing Counter Strike for the first time with CS:GO and absolutely loving it (especially Arms Race, which to my surprise I win every round about 90% time).

  4. I’m having my life completely taken over by Pokemon Conquest. Its a Pokemon strategy game in the vein of Fire Emblem. So incredibly addicting. In less than a month I’ve put more than 90 hours into it. The main storyline doesn’t take too long, but theres so much post game content its almost like the main story is an extended tutorial
