Dishonored Debut Trailer Is Best Served Cold

It’s been a while since we’ve heard about Dishonored, Bethesda’s steam-punk stealth title, but the debut trailer just dropped so we’re getting our first glimpse at the game’s direction and style. There’ plenty of mystery in this trailer, along with rooftop running, sneaky kills and cyborg skull masks. Check it out:

Pretty cool for a pre-rendered trailer, and it also gives us an idea of what the game will be about. The art style is very reminiscent of the Combine from Half-Life 2, which isn’t surprising, considering that one of the lead artists from that game is now working on this (if I remember correctly). What do you guys think of the trailer? Is your interest piqued? Do you want to see some actual gameplay?

  1. Man, that was some incredible CG for a video game trailer. I felt something when the man was vaporized, and when the “main” bad guy fell and his hair moved it gave me a weird feeling.

Looks awesome, maybe a sort of Assassin’s Creed + Mirror’s Edge + Bioshock infinite? Could be dangerous.

  2. Julez, if the game turns out to be an “Assassin’s Creed + Mirror’s Edge + Bioshock infinite” style game then I will die a happy man after having played it.

  3. I absolutely love stealth in games (even when stealth wasn’t the game’s focus) so I’m pretty pumped for this. Seems really unique too.

  4. Im very excited about this. The style was very HL2 when I first watched this a few days ago, then I went to their site and saw HL2’s art director was the one who worked on it and it was just like WOW! This is going to be a very sweet game. I think with the abilities your character will have, it will make the “assassin” genera of game very interesting.
