50 Ways Assassin’s Creed 3 Will Amaze You

Assassin’s Creed 3, the first game since the 2009 title to make an acutal numerical leap, looks to be making a lot of impressive changes to the formula. If you’ve been worried about AC3 and whether or not it will breath new life back into the franchise, take heart, because this list of 50 Assassin’s Creed 3 facts posted by Kotaku will give you the biggest of mind boners.

The article goes over all the different features being adding in to AC3 including how the game’s two towns, New York and Boston, will work, and it details the hunting that the player will be able to engage in. It also describes how you can assassinate a bear, and if that doesn’t sound like Game of the Year material to you, you need to get your brain checked.

In addition to these juicy details, there’s also some stuff that only hard-core developers or engine-fanatics would find interesting, like the amount of bones in the character’s faces and that fact that Assassin’s Creed 3 will have “twice the production capacity of the Ezio trilogy”. There’s also a lot of stuff about how new protagonist Connor will strike from the trees and how he will get involved with the Assassin Order, so even if you’re kind of “meh” on AC3 I still recommend checking this list out.

What do you guys think of the list? What are your favorite segments? Anything that worries you? What are you hoping to see in Assassin’s Creed 3?

  1. It’s hard not to get excited about this game, I’ve loved every game in the series (although I’ve yet to play Revelations, damn you gaming backlog) and I’m sure I will love this too.

This is a little weird to focus on out of all that stuff but the improvements to the cities sound great. In AC or similar games one of my favourite things to do is just wander around and see what’s going on. The things they mentioned such as a lady dropping fruit and having it stolen are the little details I love to see. It’s great to feel like you are a guest in the town and people are just going about their day to day lives instead of the entire place feeling like it was built for you only. Little things like kids being added (no pun intended) all add to this.

My only worry reading all this is that the entire game is going to turn into “AMERICA F**K YEAH”. America’s great and all but after a while it gets a little cheesy. I’m calling it right now though, there will be a moment in the game where Connor stands heroically in front of the american flag.

  2. First things first, I’m pointing the finger at you, Mitch, for being the conductor of the ASIII Hype-train.

I read the list, and was very impressed. Some of the points I didn’t like because they were vague yet revealing (THE PLOT IS MADE SO IT WILL SURPRISE YOU aka THERE’S GONNA BE SOME TWISTS). The gameplay ones I enjoyed, though. This just might be the first Assassins Creed game I buy and beat.

  3. Hopefully it will do enough things to bring me back to the franchise. I didn’t play Brotherhood or Revelations, hopefully I won’t be missing too much story-wise for this one.

  4. I used to hope that the appeal of this series would diminish, but then I took a rope dart to the tree.

  5. I was mildly timid about this at first, seeing as I was starting to feel a tad bit of sequel-itis for this series after reading that article on here pertaining to AC. After I saw the trailer and read the facts, I can now tell Ubisoft they need to shut up and take my money. Well played Ubisoft, well played indeed.
