The GamerSushi Show, Ep 40: A Pile of Lies and Shadows

This podcast is just a tad late this week, but I figured we’re doing good if we managed to get it up early in the weekend. Hey, at least it’s better than leaving you guys podcast-less for almost half a year, right? That’s what I thought. Also, Mitch and Anthony start things off with an extra special intro they worked up for all of you. It’s fairly entertaining.

In this edition of the GamerSushi Show, we chat about the Mass Effect 3 Co-op trailer, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and Saint’s Row 3. On top of that we play a game of Fill in the Blank, where we grade a variety of topics like Miyamoto taking a backseat at Nintendo, no next gen consoles in the near future and Zynga’s supposed shady dealings (on which this podcast derives its name). All in all, it’s a pretty decent show, and hey, we even fit in 6 more minutes of Resident Evil 6 talk – because why the heck not?

In next week’s podcast (which we recorded last night), I drink through most of a bottle of wine while we talk even more about Final Fantasy XIII-2, Double Fine and Kingdoms of Amalur. Stay tuned, gents and ladies.

Listen. Rate. Enjoy.

  1. I kinda wanted to play XIII, but the amount of time I was expected to invest was ridiculous. XIII-2 honestly sounds confusing. Granted, I’ve only played Final Fantasy I and II on the GBA, and a little bit of IV, but the newer games sound like something I would grow very tired of.

  2. We talk a bit more in-depth about it on the next cast. I just finished the game over the weekend and while the ending is questionable, I loved the game overall. Best JRPG I’ve played in years.

I can’t finish it…mainly b/c I keep getting sidetracked by all the side quests. Two thumbs up.

Mitch and Anthony have been in love since they locked eyes in Texas, possibly before…

I thought Call of Duty was a parody of current video games? Damnit!!

I had the same problem in Saints Row: The IIIrd with the zombie shit. That game was all over the place.

On the topic of new consoles: The “totally different experience” doesn’t really exist. We almost all agree Kinect / Move is garbage. What is the biggest difference between Half-Life and Half-Life 2? Forget graphics, I’m sure most people would say The Gravity Gun, which has nothing to do with the system or game but with where the tech is. In this case physics in games. Those are the small changes that suddenly become “Holy Shit” moments. Just like the Portal gun. It’s a simple tech thing that suddenly completely changes the way you thought about solving problems.

    Great work dudes.
    p.s. Mitch, it is “suthern”
