Heart of the Swarm Preview Trailer Stampedes out of BlizzCon

BlizzCon is going down right now in California and there’s been some new developments concerning Blizzard’s world-renown franchises. World of Warcraft has a new expansion called Mists of Pandaria, Diablo 3 is going to be free for WoW subscribers and StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm has a new trailer. Since the majority of the GamerSushi staff is kind of obsessed with StarCraft, you can imagine what I’m going to post (if the title didn’t clue you in already). Sit back, relax, and enjoy your look at Heart of the Swarm and all the new units.

Personally, I can’t wait for this new expansion and getting to play the campaign and try all the new units, even if the Terran stuff looks kind of silly to me. I mean, the transforming Hellion is cool, but the Warhound looks like a Gobot. What do you guys think of the Heart of the Swarm trailer? What about the other BlizzCon news?

  1. Hmmm the new units just don’t make me feel like that good of additions. expecially for the protoss and terran since they are removing the carrier, mothership, and greatly changing the thor. While they were never used heavily or at all I think the carrrier is similar to the battleship in that they are just badass and are a somewhat iconic part of starcraft. The other two I don’t really care for since I never liked the thor because midgame pushes would always own my shit up, and the mothership was literally never used.

As for the new units, I believe adding something like the goliath from the original is a good idea, but I would rather had a different model or maybe just put the original goliath back. I feel that the new oracle unit is kinda dumb since they already have observers that are cloaked, and if you are paying attention you should already know what is being built by your opponent. I would take the higher speed of the original hellion for harass and probably never use the other form of it; but then again additional versatility is always better even if you don’t use it. Out of all the new units I am really glad they decided to add more positioning units for the zerg but i am disappoint that they did not add something like the lurker, but instead gave that kinda thing to the terran. My overall impression of the new units is very meh and seem very situational, except for the goliath thingy and the new zerg spellcaster. Those two are the only ones from what I think will be actually used at higher levels of play.
