Battlefield 3 Beta and System Specs

BF3 Multiplayer

Gears of War 3 launches today, which means it’s finally upon us. The Gaming Season That Must Not Be Named. I bid all of you my best wishes as you meet the challenges of the next few months headlong. As for me, I’m already looking forward into October. At the risk of sounding like the world’s biggest Battlefield 3 fan site, I thought I’d post a couple of updates I saw floating around the Web this morning.

First: a multiplayer beta for the game starts next week across XBox 360, PS3 and PC. Looks like it’s going to cover the Operation Metro map.

Second: DICE released the minimum and recommended PC specs in order to play their graphically stunning behemoth. Check those out after the jump!

Minimum System Requirements

  1. *HEAD ASPLODE* I think that I may actually be able to run it! Maybe not on max settings, but I’d wager it could run well enough. I could use the beta as a test of course.

  2. Looks like I’ll be able to run it too! Still going to play the beta to see how well it runs, Couldn’t really tell in the alpha. If it runs ok a preoder is on the horizon.

  3. I wont be picking up Gears 3, at least not anytime soon.

As for the BF3 Beta, I wish I could participate. I wont have time though, Architecture graduate school is killing my free time. Im actually worried I wont be able to enjoy Skyrim or BF3 on full, which sucks! I also have the feeling that MW3 is going to be the game I end up playing more, which is sad considering BF3 is going to be a GOOD game.

  4. I’ll be getting BF3 on 360, but I’ve seen Alpha gameplay footage at max settings, and omg BF3 at 60fps is BEAUTIFUL. I’m looking forward to Beta gameplay.

  5. Wow. That is some crazy specs. I thought I had a bad-ass rig but I just barely meet the recommended requirements. Damn. Can’t wait to play BF3.

  6. If it weren’t for my mobile (i.e. watered down and integrated) ATI card and the Origin requirement, I would so play this.
