The GamerSushi Show, Ep 17: “Sup, Bitches?”

It’s a new edition of the GamerSushi Show, ladies and gents. While 17 is not a very special number to celebrate (except for dog lovers in Canada, apparently), we’re still happy to be releasing these podcasts every week, despite our general apathy towards doing things. And really, that’s an achievement in and of itself.

In the not-so-remarkable-but-still-excellent 17th episode, we chat about a number of gaming topics, including: Sony’s NGP, Dead Space 2, Bulletstorm, Crysis 2 and Game Dev Story. We also play a whopping two games this week instead of the usual one from our friendly beard. This week, Anthony drops in with a game where we guess about a classic review. Likewise, Nick gives us a game of Grades, where we rate industry happenings. We also talk about the Social Network at some point in there, I think, unless it got cut by Nick’s merciless editing.

Anyway, give it a listen and please rate the podcast on iTunes as well.

The topics of the wonderful 17th episode:

Intro
NGP (Yeah You Know Me)
Dead Space 2 Impressions
The Demos: Bulletstorm and Crysis 2
Game Dev Story

Classic Review
Anthony’s Mystery Game

Grades
Excitement for the NGP?
Heavy Rain: the Movie?
D2D Gaming Rentals?

The Big Question: What grades would you give to the topics that we discussed? What’s your level of excitement for the NGP? What did you think of the Bulletstorm and Crysis 2 demos? What’s your ideal PC gaming rental system? Go!

  1. Awesome podcast as per usual. Since it’s the 17th cast, that means I can now drive lol. I can also drink on the next one too (18 unlocks all of the remaining power ups in the UK)!
Just a few points to make:
I didn’t know anyone outside of the UK knew about the IT Crowd so I was surprised to hear Jeff talking about it. Few enough people know about it here. Father Ted is also a great show (it’s also by Graham Lineham) if you havn’t seen it.
I played the Bulletstorm demo and did the same as Anthony: Delete ASAP for fear of tainting.
My guess for Anthony’s game was FF7. I was caught out.
    And, last but not least:
I rate NGP an ‘Ass Bro’ out of ‘Uncharted 2,’ D2D a Fable 3 out of ‘GOW3’ and the Heavy Rain movie a ‘New Vegas’ out of ‘Mass Effect 2.’

  2. NGP: okay okay… but wait… I cant make calls on it? Fuck that!

Mafia II had “side-story” DLC, but it wasn’t that fun… But I do love the idea of side-story DLC versus “oh look, you’re not finished.. Gotcha!”

The first Crysis got great scores, but it wasn’t that great of a game. I’m just hoping the campaign for Crysis 2 is more dynamic.

I remember renting a 64 a few times before we bought a Playstation! It was awesome.

My roomates are all about Deadwood for some reason, I really didn’t like it. I can only hear ugly men say “cock-sucker” so many times. Once you watch Breaking Bad, most TV shows just lose their luster.

I am all about supporting an artist, but I’m still going to download the FLAC by my private trackers so I can get it in just a few minutes at full quality, instead of waiting for an artist’s shitty website just so I can get 192Kbps mp3’s of their album. The Flashbulb is a perfect example of this. I’ll shoot them the money, but that doesnt mean I’m going to download it the way they want me to.

    Another great podcast guys!
