GamerSushi Asks: What Are You Playing?

NBA 2K11

Video games, how I miss thee. Over the last several months, I’ve been swarmed by all kinds of things that have been taking away my gaming time. Some of these distractions fall into the realm of that general nagging living life thing (working, broken down vehicles, etc), and others are chosen (Krav Maga, personal writing).

Needless to say, I’ve been itching to play some games. When I’m not overwhelmed by these non-gaming nuisances, my time is being thrown into the following: Angry Birds and NBA 2K11. A basketball game may seem like an odd choice, but NBA 2K11 has already given me hours of sporty goodness. My brother and I have played countless games against one another, talking trash and throwing down sick jams all the meanwhile. If you’re into sports games at all, I’d suggest picking it up. On my radar are Fallout: New Vegas, Black Ops and Dead Rising 2 in the near future.

What about you guys? What are you playing this weekend and this week? Go!

  1. I didn’t buy anything new over the fall season. Trying to save big for the coming holiday season and new year.

I’ve been sticking to TF2 and L4D2 with custom maps and friends.

    I’m trying to save for
    – Crysis 2 (February)
    – Portal 2 (February)
    – Little Big Planet 2 (January)
    – Gran Turismo 5 (Holiday Season)
    – Deus Ex: Human Revolution (Q1/Q2 2011).

  2. Well, starting Tuesday at 12:35 AM I’ll be playing Black Ops, so excited!
Other than that I’ve been playing some WaW and the old Star Wars Dark Forces games.

  3. I recently beat Red Faction: Guerrilla, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and played through Bioshock finally. I also just barely picked up Empire: Total War which i am having a blast playing.

  4. Been playing Dead Rising 2 a lot. Loving it, even though the bosses are annoying, the time limit sucks, and the save system is a step above Battletoads. I plan on getting all 1000 gamerscore in it, so I’ll be playing it for a while, probably until Cataclysm comes out.

  5. Fallout: New Vegas.

Very different feel than Fallout 3. Going back to the American West roots of the series really differentiates it from Fallout 3 and it feels more like a true sequel to the original pc games.

Most of the new game mechanics that were added are great. Hardcore mode is cool, but a little underwhelming after the first few hours of play. Being able to actually aim down the sights of your guns when you zoom in on enemies totally transforms combat.

I’m about 15 hours in and I still haven’t made it to Vegas.

  6. BFBC2 (roll on Vietnam!) and Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare. My friends and I can’t get enough of it as shootin’ undead varmits never gets boring. I also started playing Trine again as I said I would and it’s great. Sadly, my PS3 has had a few overheating problems as of late but they seem to be less frequent recently. Here’s hoping it’s out of that phase!

  7. Fallout New Vegas (although less and less as it goes on), Fable 3 and Medal of Honor on PC.

Mostly just waiting for Black Ops to hit. I’m done with Dead Rising 2 for the most part, and I’m a little burnt out on Reach after reaching 100% on the gamerscore. Bungie may have lifted the level cap, but I am way too tired of Gruntpocalypse to keep striving for new helmets (that and I’ve Onyx’d all the easy campaign commendations. Farming ftw!).

  8. Still BFBC2 on PC and slowly working on Fable 3 on Xbox, Don’t think I’ll need anything more for a while.

  9. Well, I finally got Black Ops, after waiting six hours in line for it.
Got the first Hardened Edition given out at the store.
Next thing I know when I get home, the disk is cracked DX.

  10. I bought the Gold Edition of Serious Sam, which had the originals and HD remakes for both the first and second encounter. The originals are for my laptop, the HD remakes (which look awesome) are for my more powerful desktop. I hadn’t played a Serious Sam game prior, but I heard it was just pure, mindless shooting, and it’s so much fun. I’m pumped for SS3.

Aside from that, I’m also playing Fallout 3 again, in preparation for New Vegas once Bethesda/modders patch enough of the bugs. I also recently pre-ordered Poker Night at the Inventory, and I can’t wait to play it.
