GamerSushi Asks: Halo: Reach Roll Call?

Halo: ReachIt’s about time, gents. For those of you who have been waiting patiently and impatiently for Halo: Reach, the week is finally upon us, rolling like a tidal way to sweep us up in its inexorable and powerful wake. For those that are sick of any and all Reach-around news, you are equally as joyous as the pain will soon be at its end, the hype pushed behind.

Regardless of your stance towards the huge franchise that Bungie fashioned with its own hands, Halo: Reach will be a hard game to ignore, and stands as Bungie’s swan song to Halo when it drops this Tuesday. If you’re unaware, the reviews are already pouring in, and apparently the game is turning a few heads. Many are calling it the greatest Halo game created.

So, with all of this nonsense in mind, I figured it was about time to do a roll call in these parts. I’m picking the game up tomorrow night at midnight, and I’m more than likely going to play it with my brother co-op through the night and the next day until we beat it, before jumping into other modes and replaying it again on legendary with multiple combatants. That’s the plan, anyway. I’m flexible, though.

What about you guys? Who out there is going to be getting Halo: Reach? When will you have it in your grimy and gamepad calloused hands? Roll call, boys. Go!

  1. I’m getting Reach on Amazon, which should arrive on launch day. The best part is that we have a massive trip that day so there shouldn’t be any homework. My only resistance to playing Reach for the rest of the day will be my family wanting to watch TV (honestly, using a TV for its purpose, it’s crazy!)

  2. I want a 360 just to play this with all you guys. Consider me MIA for now until I save up for one. And end up buying something else.

  3. I’m getting it in the afternoon of September 14th. I know, I’m a pussy for having to go to school at 6:00am. I’m so psyched, but unfortunately I won’t be able to play it much for the first week. Gaaah, seriously!? A Tuesday?! Why Tuesday?! Who has the time to play Halo all day on a flunking Tuesday?!

Oh well, I’m stilling jizzing my pants now that Reach is actually here. Coolio.

  4. I will definitely be picking up the Legendary Edition in all its glory tomorrow night, and will be playing it all Tuesday as well. I would definitely like to do a Gamersushi game session on Reach soon, that would be a blast.

  5. Oh yeah, I’m gonna get it Tuesday, limited edition cause the flaming recon helmet and cool painted figures aren’t worth the extra 70 bucks to me.

  6. I’m getting it Tuesday afternoon. The gamertag’s Myrmidont if you want to hit me up for a game or need more people for one.

  7. I will get it tomorrow night, with my HALO REACH XBOX WOO!

I wont be able to play till late Tuesday night though 🙁 Sad news there.

Eddy, I would love to run through some campaign on legendary. So please hit me up and include me in your 4 man team 😀

Happy playing to everyone getting reach!

  8. Yeah Im picking it up and seeing as how I havnt heard from the temp agency I’ll have allday to play it 🙂

  9. Getting mine either Tuesday or Wednesday.

@SK Beans A Gamersushi play date does sound fun, I would be up for that.

  10. I knuckled under and got the Legendary Edition. It was either that or get the Limited Edition and Metroid. I think I made the right choice.

  11. To go on a point that Cossack made, why ARE games released on a Tuesday in America (as far as I know you guys do that quite often, eg. Uncharted 2 and Brütal Legend). Over here (UK and Ireland) we work with Fridays (Thursdays on the odd occasion) giving us the whole weekend to sink our teeth into it. Is it a business thing? A law? A tradition? I always found that really weird is all.

CDs and DVDs come out on Tuesday and games followed suit.

If a Tuesday release is selling well, there still is time to order
    more before the weekend.[3]

Shipments of music usually begin to arrive in stores on Thursday. That
gives the stores time to coordinate special midnight sales on Monday
evening, as opposed to Sunday, which is usually a shorter work day

This practice appears to have been followed for 20 years. 🙂

In addition studies show that Tuesday is the slowest retail day of the week, so that boosts the numbers.

  14. Unfortunately, I will never own this unless it comes to the PC! It seems after Halo 2, Microsoft and Bungie decided to say to hell with the PC. This makes me a sad gamer.

  15. Just got my copy, but only the standard edition, which was on a special store birthday sale here in Finland, for only 35€(45$) instead of usual new game price tag 60€ (76$). Plus I’m not that big of a fanboy, so standard edition is good enough.

  16. Picked up my copy on Tuesday, been playing it since. I definitely find it quite a bit more fun than Halo 3, especially since sprinting and beating someone to death is such a bad ass thing to do.
