Great Moments In Video Game Music: Metal Gear Solid 3 – Snake Eater

This one goes out to my loyal listeners Mitch and Eddy, who submitted this idea to me and after a few listens, I fell in love with it. This song plays during the opening credits of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and is very James Bond-ish, which I think works in its favor. The images that play during the movie are very cool, but I think the song works just by itself, which is the point of these posts: game music you can enjoy without having played the game. Enjoy and may the mullet be with you!

  1. Man, the moment that this music appears in-game is one of my favorite gaming moments of all time. That ladder…

  2. Yes! Love this song.

Yeah, climbing that ladder was oddly epic. Also, when this music appears in the final battle of MGS3, or in the last fight of MGS4…perfection.

  3. One of my favourite pieces of music in any game let alone MGS. And that is easily one of the easiest songs to like from a game you’ve never played as you’ve probably seen a James Bond film anyway. I can remember climbing that ladder once, getting to the top and thinking; “It took me this long to CLIMB up, how fast can Snake plummet?” Quite fast as it turns out!
