Great Moments In Video Game Music: Chrono Trigger – Tyran Castle

Okay, I couldn’t resist this one any longer. When you first hear it, you might think of Golbez from Final Fantasy IV, but stick around to about 45 seconds in and the crunchy guitars kick in and you are suddenly nodding your head to a bad ass riff. If you think JRPG music can’t kick a little ass, listen to this.

  1. Man I love that music. Most of the music from Chrono Trigger is awesome, but that one always gets me going. So many memories set to that tune.

  2. That bass line is killer!

It’s always funny for me hearing music from SNES games because my SNES had a broken sound chip, so all of the music and fx were garbled. For all these years I’ve just had to nod sheepishly when people start raving about music from SNES games and hope that nobody asks for my opinion!

  3. You need a battle theme combination from Shadow of The Colossus (the battle on the ground and the victorious climbing of the colossus). At least one.
