Bulletstorm Trailer Kicks it Old School

If you miss the days of yore for First Person Shooters, where it was you, a gun, millions of hostile aliens and no plot to get in the way, then you might enjoy the following trailer for Bulletstorm, the up-coming FPS collaboration from Epic Games and People Can Fly. If you played Painkiller, PCF’s previous shooter-oriented effort, then you know that they have a healthy thirst for crazy on-screen action. Bulletstorm looks to be a great spiritual successor to Painkiller’s legacy, allowing the player to use their massive boots to kick guys into cacti and laser whip them around. The video looks like it enables players to combo their attacks together for points, a “chain of pain” if you will.

What do you guys think? Is this on your radar now?

  1. I get motion sick easily and I’m left with a bit of a headache after that one.

Looks like it might be fun for.. an hour or so.

  2. I saw it on Gameinformer last month and was instantly intrigued. The story is looking good and the gameplay even better.

  3. it is definitely on my radar now, along with brink and red dead redemption. But that last scene in the trailer was a little sickening.

  4. Any game with “Gang Bang” as a combo title is on my radar.

Seriously: This game looks good, has an arcade style to it. It might be a representation of what this generation’s arcade shoot-em-up games will be like.

By the way, would you know if any other video game has ever used a Nine Inch Nails song, either in the game or for a Trailer?

…Ever heard of a game called Quake? Trent Reznor and NIN did all the music for that game. He was also supposed to be the sound dude for Doom 3 but left the project.

    Didn’t know that. Thanks.

  7. For some reason it reminds me of Badlands. But more awesome and less guns. Which is a good thing.
