GamerSushi Asks: What Are You Playing?

We might sound like a broken record around here, but this first half of this year has been an absolute treasure trove for our hobby. We’ve already had several Game of the Year candidates land on our consoles already, and we’re not even in April yet! Even though we’ve got Splinter Cell: Conviction and Red Dead Redemption on approach, we’re getting ever closer to the dreaded Summer Drought where our consoles remain cold and dark and we’re forced to venture outside in search of amusement.

Before that happens, we have a few more weeks of glorious gaming! Seeing as how we’re inundated with more excellent games than we know what to do with, I thought I’d initiate our little monthly quiz and find out what you’re playing.

Since I know you’re dying to find out what I’m spending my time on, I’ll deign to answer your queries. This time, anyways. I’m currently doing a heck of a lot of PC gaming, mostly on Battlefield: Bad Company 2. This game continues to be fantastic, and I just can’t get enough of it. I’m also smiting the forces of Chaos in Dawn of War II, and that’s a pretty good time, especially in the co-op campaign. On the console, I’m just about done my fourth Mass Effect 2 playthrough, this time with a Shepard carried over from the original. I also got my mits on a PlayStation 3, so I’m looking forward to firing up some of 2010’s big PS titles. Oh, and I’m playing Pokemon HeartGold, but don’t tell anyone.

What about you guys? What have you got on the go, and what are you looking forward to? Anything that we haven’t talked about on GamerSushi that you think we should be checking out?

  1. I recently went back to MW2. And then I took out the disc a few minutes later. Guddamn, MW2 sucks.

So in all seriousness, I’ve been playing Bad Company 2 with my squadmates who are awesome, Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 (can’t wait for The Passing), I’ve been playing a couple games of CoD4, and now that all the whores are playing MW2, it’s really fun, and I’ve also been playing TF2 on my PC. Good times.

  2. I haven’t been doing quite as much gaming as I used to. Last week I started playing MW2 again after not playing it for a month or so and I wasn’t really doing too bad, between 2.00 and 3.00 K/D ratios, but I got so tired of noob tubers and shottys so fast that I quit it after a couple days.

I sent my 360 in this morning, so I guess I’ll go back to Bioshock 2 on my PC and keep trying to beat it. I was on the last freaking level when a patch came out that corrupted my save file and I had to start all over. And I just can’t get the will to play and beat it back.

So I guess I’ll just keep playing golf and wait for SC: Conviction and Red Dead Redemption to come out in mid and late April.

  3. Final Fantasy 13 and Bad Company 2 whenever I can spare a few moments. Soon I hope to finally finish Bad Company 2’s campaign, start AVP just to see if it’s as bad as they say, and then finally get to the Dragon Age Awakening DLC. Hopefully I can do some of this before Splinter Cell Conviction or 3D Dot Game Heroes in April, but I doubt it. Curse you Web Zeroesssss!

  4. Final fantasy 13, God of War 3 and Fable 2. BOOYA!

Just prestiged in MW 2, so done with that for a bit. It does not suck, Cossack, lol

  5. @ Anthony

YUSS IT DUZZZ!!! lol Actually I do like MW2. Its campaign was epic, its Spec Ops mode was fun with my buddy, and MP was fun until after a few weeks when the glitches started to deluge and overall it just became more whore-ish. There’s a fantastic game under all that noob crap. Seriously, there were some major bad balancing decisions.

  6. Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, TF2, Dragon Age: Origins, and another playthrough of Mass Effect 2. I just got a PS3, finished Uncharted 1, and am working my way through the God of War Collection.

  7. Deffinetly Bad Company 2….it has filled a large hole in me that has been there since i quit WoW half a year ago. Oh and i just finished off a few games from LucasArts hey-day …Full Throttle, Day of the Tentacle and Sam and Max.

  8. @Plan9Channel7

where did you find a copy of Full Throttle? I loved that game to death before it managed to get lost when we moved, I haven’t managed to found a copy of it anywhere since.

  9. Been playing a lot of stuff. Or maybe it just feels that way with all the hours I’m sinking into the games. Been playing the hell out of ME:2 with Firewalker, and now I’ve decided to try and get the final in-game achievement of beating the game on Insane difficulty. Been playing TF2 and L4D2 also. All of these on the PC. Can’t wait for April 7, buy that ME2 Kasumi DLC and maybe that image pack they’re offering. What the hell, it’s only $5 right?

  10. Dunno if it was pointed out, but it’s Red Dead Redemption, Revolver was the first. I’m still engrossed in BFBC2. Me and my friends decided in school that we’d go back to MW2 now to see how it stacks up to BFBC2. Unanimous prediction of: It’ll flop in comparison. Also, Mitch, have you signed up to PSN yet?

  11. I knew there was something funky about that…thanks for pointing it out.

And yes, I’ve signed up for the PSN. Did it last night. God of War today. Gonna be good times.

  12. Ahh! Eddy! Thanks for the WZ Reminder. Maximum Yuks!

Also, I’m playing Just Cause 2, just picked up Metro 2033 yesterday. And I’m waiting for a paypal transfer to go through to buy Battlefield BC2 and Assassin’s Creed II. It’s going to be a busy spring!

  13. New games? Nothing brand new but I have been enjoying Battlefield 2 and Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault
