GamerSushi Asks: What Are You Playing?

Battlefield Bad Company 2We’ve repeated it so many times, but I think it can’t be overstated: the amount of great games we’re getting so far this early in 2010 (with more still to come) is simply staggering. Already we’ve played a game of the year candidate in Mass Effect 2, seen some stuff we’ve never seen before in Heavy Rain, and soon will be revisited by an old friend in Final Fantasy XIII. Oh, and that’s not to mention the Resident Evil 5 DLC (second pack released last week), Crackdown 2 (coming this summer), Splinter Cell: Conviction or the newly released Battlefield: Bad Company 2.

Speaking of DICE’s new game, that’s what I’ve been playing a good bit of this week, in addition to Heavy Rain as well as Tropico 3. If you’re curious, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is a fantastic multiplayer game, and even has a fairly decent single player game, from what I’ve experienced. I’ve been up late a few nights playing some epic multiplayer matches. Something that’s become obvious to me is that I simply love Battlefield’s multiplayer format. I don’t know if it’s nostalgia or simple that its layout is just better than many other games, but whatever it is, it hits me in that special place.

So what about you guys? What are you playing lately? Go!

  1. Yeah I’ve been playing a lot of BF as well and I’m loving it. My biggest complaint about the first was that it took forever for someone to die, and now that that is no longer a problem I love it. It’s so fun to play with friends too.

  2. BFBC2. Luckily my 3 BFBC friends and I all prefer the different classes so we’re consistently the most proficient squad in the match. I play as Engineer purely because they have SMGs (I was a specialist back in BFBC1) so the new classes work fine for me. We haven’t had a chance to get many games as a 4-man-squad though due to exams fast approaching. Nice timing with the release, DICE lol.

  3. Still waiting for the L4D2 DLC later this month, so I’ve been playing L4D2 to keep up my skills. Also, I can’t wait until Portal 2 completely devours my entire life in the Fall. I’m sure FFXIII will do the same to more than one of you guys =D

  4. Well, i get DA:O and ME2 back from my friends tomorrow, so I’m going to be playing those, and I’m ordering AC2 off of Amazon tonight. Along with Jade Empire. I’m pretty late for that, but it’s Bioware and 5 bucks, so why not. Also, I’m looking forward to Splinter Cell Conviction.

  5. I finally got Assassin’s Creed 2 so I’ve been playing the shit out of it. I’ve also been playing some Batman Arkham Asylum when I want a change of pace from AC2. I’m a little behind with my games and it’s quite depressing considering all the great games that are coming out.

  6. I miss AC2. Loaned it to a friend so I can shoot some Nazi Zombies since my copy of WaW is missing D=. I haven’t gotten a chance to try out the multiplayer for BC2 on the full version, though I already know I’m going to be a sniper half the time.

  7. So much Bad Company 2. The multiplayer is probably the best I have ever played, and the single player ain’t too shabby neither. I just unlocked the M416 assault rifle, but I haven’t used it yet. Looking forward to it! I’m playing on the PC and the 360, and my PC username is Lube182. Lubeius on the 360.

    Also, Mass Effect 1.

  8. I decided to get Bad Company 2, and since 3 of my friends got it too, we’ve been playing quite a bit. I love the 9A-91 because it’s so dang powerful.
I’m also playing L4D 1 and 2 Versus and Scavenge with friends to get psyched for the upcoming DLC, The Passing. I’m also playing Halo 3 with some friends – mostly custom games and forge – to get psyched for Reach.

OH, IMPORTANT QUESTION: HOW THE FLYING FRACK DO I GET MY VETERAN STATUS FOR BAD COMPANY 2? I want that goshdamn M1 Garand, but I have no idea how I’m supposed to get Veteran status. HALP MEH PLOX!

  9. I’ve been reading that Veteran status is currently borked, and DICE is re-doing the whole website.

I’m affected by this myself; I currently have the Garand on the 360 but not the PC.

That’s the website. You need an EA account to sign up, but it’s pretty straight forward. Just don’t expect it to work right away.
