Nathan Fillion Talks Halo ODST

I’m a big fan of all things related to Firefly, particularly Nathan Fillion, Captain Mal Reynolds himself. Not only is the guy really into Bungie and the Halo series, he just happens to be one of the leads in the next Halo game, Halo ODST. This new interview shows off a few new clips of the game, and some humorous stories from Mr. Fillion as well.

I have to say, while I initially didn’t care for this game at all, I’m starting to slowly warm up to it. What about you guys? Who’s going to play this?

  1. Nathan Fillion is my new hero. I started watching Castle the other night, and I’m hooked. It’s nothing particularly special, but it’s a very well put together product.

Anyways, I am super excited about ODST. I’m a big fan of Halo lore, and being able to play as a Shock Trooper is quite intriguing for me. Yes, I’m a total Halo whore too, but whatever. Open world Halo sounds like a win to me.

  2. Castle is so much fun. I got my fiancee hooked onto it, so as to give her a taste of Fillion’s awesomeness. Then, when she isn’t looking, I am going to Firefly her ass.

  3. I’ve heard that Castle is really fun. Also, Anthony, I have to say that I’m a fan of the phrase “Firefly her ass”. I laughed out loud.

I heard a girl once say she was going to “Notebook a guy” when he came over to watch a movie.

    Full disclosure and all.

  5. Iv been ready for this. From what I have seen and read it seems that this is going to be a very Halo-esq game but its going to take away some of the factors that I found really annoying.

First it seems that this is going to be more like an FPS such as Rainbow6 or Modern Warfare. The elimination of the shields is going to mean your shots count. I like that a lot more. I always thought the part of Halo being MULTIPLE Head-shots was golden was kind of…annoying at times.

It also seems like they are really going to change the mechanics to where you wont be going in guns a blazing all the time and living. It seems as though its going to a completely different animal when it comes to Halo’s combat system.

I personally have some good hopes for it 😀

  6. I’m annoyed that they bumped up the price to full 60 bucks despite their earlier claims of 30 or 40, I forget which. It’s an expansion with the exact same multiplayer. That’s kind-of a rip.

Yeah, Bungle kind of shot themselves in the foot with that. It probably started as a budget title, but as it’s been stated many times, they’ve never tried to build a game with the same engine before, they’ve always had to devote a significant chunk of time to creating the hardware from the ground up.

I think once they realized what they could do with the building blocks already in place, the project started to escape the earlier predictions set for it internally, so they’re having to do a lot of back pedaling on their previous statements.

That, and they got Fillion, Tudyk and Bladwin. That shit ain’t cheap.

  8. HE MENTIONED CANADA! When they first announced ODST, I thought it was a soundtrack. I don’t really see the point of buying this game unless your a really be Halo Fan or it has some new, innovative ideas for the game play. Nope, Bladwin, the lesser known family of actors.

Figures I’d spell Tudyk’s name right.
