Now that we’re already halfway through the month of April (seriously?), that means the whole gaming realm inches closer to E3 2009, which takes place the first week of June. While the event isn’t quite the spectacle that it used to be, gaming studios take the few days with the press fairly seriously, and bring out their big guns, especially in terms of announcements.
We are now starting to hit that gaming news drought that comes in the month or so leading up to E3 where studios pull up the protective turtle shells and wait to unleash their megaton announcements all at once. In years past, we’ve gotten to see first glimpses of things like Halo, MGS, GTA, Zelda, and the like.
So what do you think we’ll hear at E3 this year? Any big and bold predictions? Personally, I think that one of the big 3 is going to mention a new console. They probably won’t be unveiling it or showing it at this point, but it wouldn’t shock me to get a tease of some kind. Also, I’m thinking we might see an announcement regarding a new Zelda game as well as something new from the Halo franchise.

I personaly think we’re going to see a trailer of Half-Life 2:Episode 3 and probably a new console from Nintendo.Oh, and a teaser for the new Survival Pack for Left 4 Dead.
Hmm.. I don’t know in terms of predictions, but in Hopes, i’d like to see some Half-life Episode 3 tease action, and maybe something neeew. I’d die to see some Deus Ex 3 Information, the short teaser has been out for a while already, hopefully Eidos can take the cake! (assuming the cake is not, infact, a lie)
While it’s pretty unlikely this soon after Fallout 3, I’m hoping and praying for an announcement of TESV.
I really hope and doubt we will see a new console, unless you count the PSP2. If so, I will be pissed at whatever company would dare do that. So that means it would be Microsoft.
I just want to see some kick ass games.

Anyway, if someone DOES announce a new console, i’m hoping it’s not Microsoft, since I have an Xbox 360 and with money being extremely tight as it is, I don’t want to have to get a new console any time soon.

No, I definitely don’t want it. I hope this console gen lasts at least another 2-3 years. But I wouldn’t be surprised if a console in development for a 2011 release was teased this year, and SHOWN next year at E3. That scenario actually seems fairly likely to me.
Half Life 2 Episode 3, Mass Effect 2, FF XIII (It would be the first FF game i would have ever gotten, and played), Timeplitters 4 and Star Wars Battlefront 3 are games i would like to see some light shed on. I am also hopeful for some sequels being announced like a new Devil may cry, Fallout, etc.
I don’t think we’ll see new consoles until next or next-next year.
Anyway, I’m guessing we’ll see a bit of Halo: ODST gameplay, perhaps a new Zelda (although I doubt it), more Modern Warfare 2 stuff (WHICH I AM TOTALLY PSYCHED FOR OMGASM!!!!) and maybe new stuff about OnLive.

That makes sense, but we should be getting more mileage out of our consoles. I am on the PS3 ten year plan, no matter if the PS4 comes out tomorrow.
Well, other than the regular Valve-love (L4D pack, HL2EP3)… maybe some stuff? honestly, I dont usually pay much attention to whats new, since I dont have much money to spend. dont want to gander at what I cant get, you know?
Ugh, new console predictions? Devs can’t figure out the PS3, a now current genconsole, so how does anyone hope to work the next behemoth? On a more positive note, something shown by Bethesda would be nice, Sony could give one or twenty new exclusive titles/Valve fires Gabe Newell and they start to make games for the PS3 AND PLEASE GOD real games for the Wii.

Late to the pack with this one, I generally don’t care much for E3 anymore.
I’m kind of expecting something from Sony though. They’ve been pretty quiet for a long time, and they always have things to add onto their project for world domination…er, marketing strategy. Probably a sneak preview full of misinformation about an as-yet unrevealed system.
Nintendo ALWAYS has stuff to talk about at E3 and they make it sound awesome, whether it really is or not.
What I hope for, however, is info on: Episode 3, Timesplitters 4(fingers crossed), TF2 updates, Modern Warfare 2, Old Republic, and anything from Valve. Also, is Blizzard going to make an appearance this year? I can’t remember if they said they were or not. If so, I’d like to hear about that other MMO they’re working on.

For real, though, I’d love to see some new Zelda/Metroid stuff come out. Probably not going to happen.
Looking for some news on The Old Republic, though. Everyone else took all my predictions (I read this in an airport and couldn’t log in). Oh well.
With the new Zelda DS game, that should be all the Zelda for a while, I would think.

I highly doubt we see anything about the L4D Survival Pack at E3. Why? It’s coming out (allegedly) next Tuesday (April 21).
Anyways, I think Bungie MIGHT drop a huge ODST bomb, and we MIGHT get to see some gameplay (Hopefully).
Otherwise? I have no idea. Should be interesting.

Emm, psp2/psphone, hl2:ep3, new info on gt5, maybe a new franchise from valve, blizz release date on starcraft 2, some new EA bs- hopefully plans for Mirrors edge 2, new footage on shi(f)t. And propably a new nintendo wii.
My wishlist: valve’s announcing that they are going to port every source game and the source engine itself to both linux and ps3, ms announces bankruptcy.

Actually, the PS3 has most of the kick-ass exclusives this year, as opposed to last year when the 360 had them. There is some really good stuff out there
