Batman Dominates Arkham Asylum

So, I’ve been skeptical but still hopeful about Batman: Arkham Asylum up until now. Well, you can officially put me aboard the crazy train for this game, after this new gameplay video featuring the challenge rooms. These really show off the “invisible predator” game style that the creators are going for, and it’s unbelievably Batman. I worried that this was just going to be a simple beat-em-up, but this video is like Solid Snake with a grappling hook. And it’s awesome.

  1. I’m impressed by this too, the whole strike-and-retreat mentality and wide variety of combat/gadget moves is a really fun concept. The fact that it will always play out differently each time makes for great replay value like L4D. The enemies really don’t seem responsive though or maybe their intelligence was turned down for the purpose of the demonstration. Like at 00:40 you’d think you’d be spotted.

I should check to see how it all plays out in the story mode first. Anyway, can’t wait!

  2. Looks pretty good. I’ve always been a fan of the Batman characters. Not so much the movies or games. Or comics..erm..not a DC boy myself, but this looks interesting.
