First Modern Warfare 2 Teaser

Well, the very first preview of Modern Warfare 2 (looks like they may have dropped the Call of Duty moniker, eh?) is now available, with the ever so briefest of teases of the game. And I mean tease in every sense of the word. While the trailer doesn’t really show us much, it does give us a release date of November 10, 2009, which is kind of awesome, to say the least.

  1. Nice. Very high concept for a game trailer. With the sounds of an airport interspersed through the trailer, I bet MW2 will have a domestic lean to it. Crazy monster closet battles on American soil? Count me in!

  2. Man..that was like *gears of war bubble censorship style* your popsicle about to get licked and only getting the lips so close that you cool feel their breath. And then them going on vacation for two weeks and leaving you there on your couch. Not enough censorship? 😮

  3. Woot I cant wait to get my hands on this game, All aboard the Modern Warfare 2 Hype train woot woot

  4. WOW. That is how you do a teaser! No pre-rendered footage leaving fanboys to argue whether its using the ingame engine or not, just enough to grab the attention of someone to say “wtf is this?” and then to see its the next COD.

    Another successful example:

Deus Ex 3.. At first you dont know what it is (if you just saw the video without title) and then you hear the music of the 1st one and Maaan. Tingles if you know and love the series =).

  5. Looks cool, but then again, what did I see? Not too sure, some terrorist attack on an airport? I think it could be a cool proxy war type deal. Imagine Russia using terrorists to launch attacks on the U.S. and the U.S. using some PMC or something. Starts out with you being a counter-terrorist operative then switches between that guy and a PMC Merc.

  6. [Epic pause]

Yeah, this is pretty much like Jesus’s Second Coming for me.
My only complaint is that they chopped off the Call of Duty part, but I’m sure people will not even notice.

  7. No idea what’s happening, but if this is a hint to hostage breakouts or whatever (like R6V?) coupled with epic battles then it’s buisness as usual. I’ll get my MP5SD.
