Call of Duty World at War DLC Details

cod-3I’m a big fan of what Treyarch did with Call of Duty: World at War. While many of us doubted that the game would be any good at all, they put out a respectable sequel to one of the greatest shooters of all time, which was no easy task.

Right now, the game’s online multiplayer is still crushing the competition, some would say, but it’s about time for some new stuff to freshen everything up. That’s why a new DLC pack is coming March 19th, complete with not only a few new multiplayer maps, but also a new map for the oh-so-loved Nazi Zombie Mode. Sounds awesome.

Details after the jump!

* “Station” offers a bombed out underground train station littered with destroyed subway cars, hidden passageways, loading platforms and second story overlooks. This medium sized map is perfect for dominating Capture the Flag and other team games and provides a wide range of combat options from close range choke points to hidden sniper spots.

* Fire-bombed Berlin provides the backdrop for “Nightfire,” an intense battlefield for mid to large-scale team games. Shelled buildings and ruins of the city provide coverage among the war-ravaged streets, and the flames of the burning city expose the enemy running through the night. Fight for your life knowing that this fiery urban battlefield may soon be your grave.

* “Knee Deep” takes place on the island of Peleliu in a once tranquil village turned chaotic Japanese command center. Aiming to retrieve the valuable intel housed in the command post, troops fight through the jungle, wade knee deep in streams and take battle positions in fortified Japanese bunkers to secure this important communication center. Ideal for all combat scenarios and designed for larger team games and objective matches.

* The fan favorite 4-player co-op Nazi Zombies Bonus Mode returns with “Verrückt,” a terrifying Zombie asylum located in the outskirts of Berlin. The map splits the four players into pairs, challenging the two teams to find each other for survival. Featuring more weapons, perks via the addition of Perks-a-Cola machines, electroshock defenses and the endless Nazi Zombie horde, “Verrückt” will push you to the edge of your sanity.

So, who’s going to be grabbing this when the DLC drops next week?

  1. Im looking forward to it, of course the new Nazi Zombies map but the others dont seem half bad either. Anyone know how much this is gonna cost me?

  2. Yeah, I’ll be downloading this. I’ve got a lot of MS points saved up for Fallout DLC but if the rest of it’s cheap like Anchorage was I should have enough for this and the Fallout stuff. If not I can always buy more points.

  3. Verrückt is what’s probably going to sell me once the DLC comes out. I might try to get back into WaW multiplayer, attepmting to ignore all noobishness and glitches and level-up with the upcoming Double XP weekend. (There’s another one inbound, right?)
The new maps sound awesome – hopefully Treyarch debugged the maps so there are no under-the-map glitches – and Verrückt sounds omgasmic and will probably keep me playing Nazi Zombies for a few weeks or months.

  4. That new zombie map sounds awsome. But i do wonder what they will do for teams of just 2 or 3?
I just hope the new maps are glitch free, or as glitch free as they can get it. WAY too many maps have some kind of out-of-map glitch.

  5. You should also mention there’s a CoD: WaW singleplayer demo out, while we’re on the topic of the game.

    Doh!

  7. Man, the things they have changed in Hardcore are good and bad. They changed A LOT.

They took out tanks in Hardcore..THANKFULLY. In some maps they were OK IMO but on others…they ruined the game. Overall, tanks are shit in that game. Way to strong.

But now they took out the bipod option as well due to glitches. Bad move I think.

    And is this free?
