GamerSushi Asks: Old School Downloads?

mgsOne thing I love about the newest consoles is the ability to download and play old school favorites straight onto the system. Whether it’s XBox Live, PSN or Virtual Console, each one is allowing gamers to download and experience old favorites at their leisure.

However, I’ve noticed that there are a lack of some of my favorite previous gen games on some of these networks. I think that the Virtual Console is probably doing the best job of giving some of the classics like Super Mario RPG, Zelda and the like. While there are some options on the PSN and XBox Live, there are some notable entries still missing.

So, if your console (or PC) could download any five previous gen titles for any system onto it, what would your choice be? I think I could easily go for KOTOR, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Super Mario RPG, Final Fantasy VI and Metal Gear Solid. What about you guys?

    3. Mario Kart 64
    4. F-Zero X
    5. KOTOR II

    Its hard to tell. Im really trying to think of games that I just loved and played constantly. I may want to add Oblivion to that list.

    Now to be honest, if this was on PC. I could probably get all but AC4 and KOTOR II.

  2. Well, let’s see…I’d go with FF1, mostly because it came before Square’s complicated stories and made grinding levels somehow fun. That with Battlefront and Mechassault from the Xbox, CTR from the PS1, and Shadow of the Colossus from the PS2, which I still haven’t got around to playing.

  3. Tough because there is so many but ones I’d like to see are…
    1-Crash Bandicoot: Warped
    2-Syphon Filter
    3-Jak 2
    4-Conkers Bad Fur Day
    5-Paper Mario
    I know once I hit submit I’ll think of 10-15 more but I’m gonna go with the first ones that came to mind.

    Syphon Filter
    Mario Kart 64
    Super Smash Bros
    Paper Mario

    can be downloaded right now!

    The rest have been released on the GBA, like Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy I, not to mention Mario 64,lol.

    My list of games that have YET to be released are:

    Final Fantasy Tactics
    Shadownrun (Genesis version)
    Vagrant Story
    Legend of Mana
    Super Mario Kart (SNES)

  10. Well yeah, but they’re not all available on our system of choice! That’s the big thing. Sure I can download Super Mario RPG, but I wish I could play it on my 360, haha.

    I understand that,lol. As long as we are wishing for the impossible, add cure for cancer and American Idol to get canceled on that list. Or just bring Firefly back.

    I am surprised that MGS isn’t on the PSN yet.
