Dragon: Age Origins Trailer Makes Me Happy

I can’t remember the last time I’ve played an honest-to-goodness fantasy game. Most RPG’s that I pick up these days are more sci-fi in nature, or steampunk, or anything else that decidedly does not have uber-awesome dragons and dudes in chainmail slugging it out in epic battles. This new Dragon Age: Origins trailer definitely has all of that and more, and really kicks up my excitement for the game to a new level. Anyone else geeking out with me?

  1. I resisted Final Fantasy’s turn into sci-fi, but gave it an honest shot (lesson to be learned, fanboys) and while I loved those, seeing this brings warm feelings to my heart.

Thats why I love Oblivion so much.

  2. I can’t express how much I want this game right now – it looks like it’ll be a lot like Neverwinter Nights, but with better companion systems. Can’t wait.

  3. Looks pretty amazing…I’m curious to see what the actual battle system looks like, but it’s Bioware, so it’s pretty much guaranteed to rock.

The battle system is essentially like Baldur’s Gate, but with the camera pulled down behind you. It offers kind of a mix of some stuff from KOTOR, etc, since you have the ability to pause and do it as turn based as well.
