Luke be a Joker Tonight

It’s a shame that there hasn’t been a truly great Batman game in a while. But wait! Apparently, someone is going to try their hand with the new game Batman: Arkham Asylum. Overjoyed? Maybe not, but it gets better…

In news that can only be described as totally kick-ass, Mark Hamill is going to be reprising his vocal role as the Joker for the game. If you’re not sure what this means, it’s actually totally awesome.

Mark Hamill, who happens to be famous for a little known role as Luke Skywalker in Star Wars, also played as the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series, in what I’ve always felt was one of the most stunning and great renditions of the character. Don’t believe me? Just watch.

In addition, it seems they are going to hold a contest where one lucky fan will be an Arkham inmate, complete with a face scan, personal photos, and insane scribblings etched onto the walls. Pretty cool stuff.

Now if only they could make the game good… What about you guys? Were any of you fans of the animated series?

  1. Never saw much of the animated series. I did enjoy the Dark Knight and so did many of my friends. As far as the game seems, it looks like the most solid batman game yet.

  2. What?! Mark Hamill is reprising his role as The Joker?! *explodes*

Man, that was one of my favorite cartoons when I was young. It also produced probably the best Batman movie of that era, Mask of the Phantasm.

I really hope this game is good. Oh, who am I kidding, Mark Hamill will do it for me alone.

  3. Wow, is very interesting about the star wars thing.
And yes, I was a fan of the animated series, good stuff…
But the Joker in the “Dark knight” is the best. So sad can’t see him again.
