PAX: Cosplay Edition

I’m a huge nerd. Let’s just get that out of the way. I am maybe one of the biggest (not just in stature) nerds that you will ever meet. It’s a combination of factors that make me that way, really. However, I’ve always liked to think that there’s a line I would never cross, no matter what, a line that takes you from just a nerd into a sacred realm reserved for precious few…

That line for me is cosplay. And at PAX, there was lots of it.

The pictures range from the absurd to the awesome. I’ll let you do the choosing.

Unfortunately, I missed getting shots of Yuffie, Vash the Stampede, Solid Snake, Captain Falcon and Master Chief. I know, I know. I’m sad about it, too.

  1. Didn’t know the Joker wore glasses.

    Yeah, I am with 100%.

Cosplay is just another way of saying, “I never want to get laid EVER”

Even when hot chicks do it, unless its on Halloween, its still so wrong.

I hope you kicked that Weighted Companion Cube. Douche.

  2. Hey, isn’t he a little short for a stormtrooper?

And dressing up isn’t all bad: my sister and I won two round-trip, anywhere in the country airline tickets from a costume contest. We were on television too, but that’s beside the point. So give it a chance!

  3. a costume contest is a REASON for dressing. No issues there.

But just dressing up for a convention or when people dress up for a movie opening…*shudder*

  4. What I didn’t understand is the people that dress up and bring PROPS. It’s like… you realize you have to carry that junk around with you all day, right?

  5. I always like these people. Some are great some are… terrible.
I think I saw that same guy, wearing the “prince” cosplay from “Katamari Damashi”, at the Tokyo game show. And I love that companion cube!! WANT.

  6. Yeah, the dude made it himself, pretty wild. Seriously though, running in to Captain Falcon in the bathroom was one of the strangest things ever.

Least it wasn’t a Big Daddy.

What a team they will be.

  9. What are these people DOING to themselves? Do they know that the weighted companion cube is not made of wood? Are they HUMAN?!?
